UFO sighting in Louth, UK

Louth Today reports that UFOs have been spotted and reported over this seaside town on Sunday and two weeks previously:
The balls of multi-coloured light were seen by residents in St Bernard's Avenue around 10pm last Sunday. Two weeks ago three similar sightings off the coast of Trusthorpe were explained as being made by afterburners from military aircraft on exercise. But RAF bosses said this time there had been no fighter jets around the Louth area at that time last Sunday. [...] Steve Whittleton, 34, from St Bernard's Avenue, said: "I saw two UFOs - I'm certain of that. "There were two massive orange balls right above me, moving slowly. "I wanted to rub my eyes but I did not want to miss them. I told my wife, but she thought I was bonkers but I know what I saw."

We saw what looked like an orange sphere of light over Louth at aprox 10:30 on Sunday evening too. We researched into it and it turns out that it was an asteroid called XP14, it was also visable on June 17th which would have been when the previous sighting took place. So sorry, but it isn't a UFO.

reply to kenwick road,, steve from louth,,. they where the size of ten pence peices as you hold them up to the sky,, they where the colour of an orange street light in the fog,,both where at a stand still side by side,, when i first saw them,. a passenger plane was approaching and they sped off in an arc, the outer one went a lot wider than the other and clearly sped up to catch the other one and they dissappeared over the horizon in a matter of five seconds. passenger planes take ten minutes to do that, what at six hundred mile an hour,.. it wasnt an astroid, as you said, it wasnt a gas cloud escaping from the tip as thats methane, and it burns blue,, it wasnt an after burner,, there was no sound.. it wasnt a freak weather,.. and somehow i dont think it was man made, and if it was we wouldnt be in this mess,, if it is a cover up, then thats just not right,, as we all pay for it...... so a ufo is an unidentified flying object, and it still is. i know what an astroid looks like kenwick..,,, please dont tell me what i didnt see,, steve
